About
M Sports Cup (MSC) is for talented boys and girls born in 2005-2010.
The event is hosted at Valentine Sports Park (VSP) in Sydney Australia, home of Football New South Wales. The tournament is for teams from across the globe. A-League professional academies, New Zealand Football Federations and top Australian National Premier League clubs attend annually.
The M Sports Cup is a competitive football development tournament for the players to showcase their talent.
Tournament Philosophy
The M Sports Cup is geared at providing Australasian and Asian youth football players with a competitive football tournament in which to develop technically, tactically, socially and psychologically. The MSC provides opportunities to compete against a selection of Australia’s, New Zealand’s and Asia’s best youth football teams. Travelling teams will have the opportunity to prepare off field by refueling correctly and physiologically preparing at Football New South Wales’ Valentine’s Sports Park. The complex is used by professional and international teams.
Off-Field Activities for Traveling Teams
The experienced M Sports Cup organisers provide off field activities for traveling teams, creating a football culture that will educate, entertain and further develop the players for future successes. Players will meet and great with current top professional players/coaches. In previous years the players had a Q and A with Alex Tobin, the most capped Australian International. The players heard accounts of matches versus the world’s best, including man marking Diego Maradona and playing against Gabriel Batistuta one of the world’s great strikers in a 100,000 capacity River Plate Stadium.
Previously Sydney FC’s Nicky Carle took time out of his pre-season schedule to meet the winning teams on finals day. A star of the A league since the competition’s inception and a fans favourite with the then English Championship sides Crystal Palace and Bristol City. Nicky’s move to Crystal Palace cost the club $1.8 AUD.
